Tuesday 3 December 2013

We went to Mapusa with our friend Alpesh, who was on his way there to get a new key. We got the bus as it was a hot day and its a long drive to Mapusa.

We headed straight to the key shop with Alpesh, who showed us how to walk across a busy roundabout.

We had a look round the market and got some food while we were waiting for the key.

Then we went back to the bus station.

We fancied a road trip so left after yoga on Friday after stopping at the petrol station.

We made our way to Panjim. We had to go on a road where you need helmets so we were all kitted out.

We stopped for a break on the way down when our bums were getting tired, but we moved swiftly on when a crowd started forming.

We got to Panjim and found place to stay with a good view over the river. We were expecting a bit of hotel luxury but neither the toilet or the shower were working.

We went for some food (Sev Puri) and a Chai, then went to see Bullet Raj at the cinema.

We had a look around the next morning before we hit the road again.

We passed through Old Goa but didn't stop, we had one thing on our minds, it was time to ride an elephant.

We also took a tour of the tropical spice farm. This is Rocky our guide explaining how Feni is made. It was really interesting, and to make it even better there was a bloke from Yorkshire going 'Ooo isn't that luvvly' every time he smelt something.

Sunday 24 November 2013

Most of the bars and cafes on the beaches are built out of bamboo. We saw this one going up on Keri beach.

This is a shot of Arambol, taken from Yoyo's restaurant.

Between Arambol and Mandrem there is a little garden that you walk through to get to the beach

You go over a little bridge and come out at the End of the World.

We found this guy washed up today.

Had a cup of Chai at Anjuna flea market last night.

Thursday 21 November 2013

We got a delivery this morning. You see these piles of red bricks everywhere, we had to move our bikes so they could drop this lot off. Luckily we were up as we were about to go to yoga.

Found this little guy on the balcony today.

We drove to Anjuna for the day market yesterday for a bit of shopping

And we've been out on the bikes again!

Sunday 17 November 2013

I took the scooter down to Anjuna to visit the water park there with Ulla and Toby.

I don't know if its related to the one in Tower Park.

View from the bridge crossing to Siolim

I stopped to take a photo of this church on the way back from Anjuna.

Saw these guys chilling on the other side of the road.

Sarah's friend Kathryn has come to stay with us in Arambol for a few weeks, she has made her way round via America and Japan among other places. We went for dinner at Cookie Walla's.

Thursday 14 November 2013

Our landlord told us they were going to be celebrating Pooja in front of the house yesterday, then just before the sun went down a box of fireworks went off outside our window. We went outside and were given fistfuls of rice crispie kind of things, which I promptly got stuck into.

Monday 11 November 2013

We took a walk up to the Banyan tree, there is a massive Om on a rock above the pathway. Unfortunately we walked up at sundown, so had to walk back in the dark after conversing with 'Baba' for a short while. He's from Leicester apparently.

On the way up to the Banyan tree is sweet lake

This is taken from the other side of Arambol beach, looking up to the hillisde

We've started doing yoga with Toby in the mornings on a rooftop.

We saw a rock and roll band the other night playing some old favourites.

We've enjoyed lots of sunsets

Here's Sarah trying out the mosquito net
